Stephen Dove acts for a number of individual and corporate clients in areas of law involving: Residential and Commercial Conveyancing, Wills, Probate and Trusts, Change of Name Deeds, Enduring Powers of Attorney, and Court of Protection matters.
Stephen originally qualified as a Solicitor in Liverpool, having completed his Articles at Yaffe Jackson Ostrin in 1980. He then relocated to run a branch office in Carterton, Oxfordshire, being Cole & Cole. In 1982 Stephen moved to Swindon to run a new branch office of Brain & Brain Solicitors where he became a partner. In 1988 he was looking for a new professional challenge and was invited to join the firm Carter Govier Read, now known as Carter Read & Dove.
Stephen has a wide variety of legal experiences, having been involved during his professional life in other areas of law other than that which he now practises, being Criminal Matters: Murder/Manslaughter case, White Collar Crime, ie fraud cases – notably Inland Revenue –v- Macari Hillier King & Farrar [the well-known Swindon Town FC case] in the early 90’s. Personal Injury work, Family work and Insolvency matters, all of which brings an in depth working knowledge to the everyday areas that touch people’s lives or corporate matters that may on occasion still be relevant to the areas of law he currently now practises.
Stephen has three children, supports his beloved Liverpool FC, and has a general interest in all sports and the Arts. He is a VIP of Wootton Bassett Rugby Club, for whom the firm is the main sponsor.
